Wood Block Floor Advice Needed
«
on:
July 24, 2012, 06:08:54 pm »
It has not been sealed so am a little concerned as custie wants it cleaned and emulsion polish applied.
I advised that the wood needs to be sanded and sealed before polish applied. Cost is the issue.
Is there any way I can accommodate custie with a clean and polish, could I clean with rotary bonnet(LM) and then apply polish or is it safe to use a blue pad?
All advice appreciated greatly.

Emulsion polish won't work it will just sink in. You need a polyurethane lacquer Cost of which is 65-90 per 5 litres depending what you buy this will cover approx 30m2.
We use either a Bona Mega or Traffic mainly for this.

If they are happy with the appearance of the floor and nt more protection you can clean with a neutral detergent and a blue or green pad. Apply polyurethane by roller when floor is dry.

Possibly. It's not intended for heavy commercial use though.
