Renting work New

anyone ever done this ? i have a friend who has had his hours cut  at his work and is struggling and would like to help him out by renting him out some work. basically it would help the both of us out if truth be told.

not something i have done, but seen on here it tends to be 20% for the rental of it, could you not employ him part time,
