Its good that the new systems are cheaper - doesn't change the fact that the whole PPB thing is nothing more than a marketing ploy. It has such minimal effect on the cleaning that it shouldn't be mentioned. 0.3% extra dissolved solids are removed - that's all!

If I wasn't so busy I might mention the "1000x better" claim to trading standards & see what they say.

It just stinks of targeting the newbies & those who are unaware of the details, saying their systems are 1000x better when in reality they're less than 1% better (at best).

I think Ionics need to jazz up their roadshow; make it more fun.
Have Dave Lee Travis squirting people with 000ppb water or Cheggers demonstrating their range of poles, naked with a can of Special Brew in his hand, of course.
Maybe have Mr. Blobby driving their van system in a crash test scenario, with Stuart Hall doing the commentary of it.
I'd take them more seriously, then.

Pure Freedom also about to launch crash tested systems like Ionics but don't know if its sled test or not.

I did my own crash test, I slammed my van into a wall in snowdonia in December 2010, my water tank was strapped down and it never moved a mm.

What does this prove, well that the factory fitted ties that are fitted to strap down you payload actually work, do you need to have you tank bolted to the floor? and if Ionics or anyone else says you do because of safety issues, then what about all the other vans on the road that also carry loads, are these also to be bolted down?

or are they using scare tactics to sell their products?

No Nat your method is still wrong, I will dig out the simple equation table from my collage days (we made ro water) Im 100% sure its not calculated like that. Did you know the new systems and the ppb systems are cheaper than the older ones? Regards

Find that equation yet Steve?

interesting point hydro.  sure saves a lot of money using straps rather than bolting

Not yet in loft early tonight found a lot of college stuff on conductivity, and ph but not the table's and equation's.........watch this space. Did you know that the new systems from ionics are not all PPB? All the systems are completely redesigned. Regards

I reckon their systems are well built, work well & look very pretty. The ONLY issue I have is their "1000x better" claim when the system only removes an extra 0.3% of impurities from the water.

In the real world this will not be noticeable - it will make ZERO difference to the clean - yet their sales pitch suggests it's better for first cleans etc!!
