Working on the basis that the milk seeped under the carpet which cannot be lifted then presumably if you apply a generous amount of Clensan in the general vivinity of where the milk was originally spilt it too should then seep into the carpet and round any edges and thus neutralise the bacteria that is giving off the odour.

Try MPower from Solutions... 80:1 mixed up hot... saturate the area and leave it overnight with a damp towel covering, extract using plain water.
Also might want to apply Cleanguard to the area using a sprayer 20:1, as far as i know this product can be sprayed and left to work with out rinsing.

Can't understand why a colloidal cleaner would be first choice for this kind of problem. They do have some anti bacterial properties but are primarily a degreasing agent.

Milk in cars is one of the commonest problems car valeters come across. Car carpets are either polyprop or nylon and toatlly resistant to water. The milk will have soaked through the carpet into the foam backing behind and may even be pooling in the dimples in the steel bodywork.
Best solution is to saturate and I mean saturate so there is actually fluid on the top of the carpet, with an enzyme product and leave preferably overnight. Extract out then soak with suitable anti microbial such as clensan, microsan microkill etc. Leave this to dwell for about 15 minutes then vac out, don't rinse out.

Johns advice is sound for years I used to cover milk spills for unigate in south wales untill they sold out to dairy crest and stopped offering the service. The majority of the spills happened in cars and the milk would often end up in the felt sound proofing or pooling in the ribs that the manufacturers put into the steel panels for strenth. There are several ways to takle it but you need to identify exactly the area that is the problem and look underneath at the profile of the panel to spot the low spots. As john has said the best product is an enzyme and you can inject this with a syrenge straight through the , if you vac this through the carpet and flush well you can remove the majority of the milk residue. If it has pooled in a rib or such you can even warm this area with a heat gun, after injecting the enzyme. (Paying obvious attention not to be near fuel lines etc ). Microsan should do the rest. In extreme cases where I did get call backs I did use a product called sterifab made by baneclean and this was a problem solver in the few instances that the above did not work.
