I need to go 60-70ft for an upcoming commercial and also have a few 4 storey houses, anyone advise on the best pole to get and which is best value for money?

Same situation myself ... was thinking of a 61ft supermax but read some recent comments about them being floppy at height  so now thinking 47ft super lite extreme with a few extra sections ?

The modular system looks good value, but is hose just left hanging from brush head..? If u get yours first Ian you will have to write a review.

The 61ft Smax is made from HM carbon & so not to be compared to other Smaxs.

I cannot comment on the Unger N-Lite as I have yet to use one on a day's work.

With regard to the Gardiner poles though I have had a little experience! Whilst the Super-Lite is a very light pole, for user practicality the Xtreme47 is better. It is telescopic up to 47ft and then you add Modular extensions to go from 47ft up to 77ft. It is also a lot more robust for everyday use than the more delicate Super-Lite Modular.

The SuperMax61 is a Hi-Modulus pole but it is a good bit heavier than the Xtreme as it is fully telescopic all the way to 61ft - it is also a lot longer when closed so not as easy to extend.

IMO the Xtreme47 would be the choice from the Gardiner range and is regularly in use with our clients at 70ft+

but what I am after just one pole that can be used all day cleaning everything from 1 storey upto 6 storey, would the extreme 47 and a few extension be the ideal pole?

So are you saying you would rather use a 2350g 6'3" extreme pole on ground floor than a 1050g 4'9" clx pole because I wouldn't want to and I'm sure most others wouldn't either

They also wear. I would not want to wear and replace the top three sections of a dearer pole.

I would like to just use one pole that did 99% of my work, weight wise, the difference is not too much to worry about, I first started off using the old telepoles from unger and they where a lot heavier than any of the carbons ones nowadays.

At the moment I have too many poles, the clx18 I have not used in ages in fact its in my spare bedroom, so i might get rid of that one as well.

I do not think that the Xtreme47 would be your ideal 'one pole does all' - this would be due to its size and weight for ground and first floor work. If you wanted a pole to do this you could get an Xtreme25 and then add the Xtreme35 extension pack, the Xtreme44 extension pack and then the modular extensions to get you up to a maximum of 74ft. You would also need different length hose-packs to avoid having 47ft of pole hose trailing around when working at just 25ft.

The downside of using one pole for all is that it would get all the wear and tear that is currently spread between all of your poles. You would need to factor in replacing top sections when needed. I still think it is a good idea to have a choice of poles as it spreads the wear and also it is much easier just changing poles than adding sections. I realise that I am fortunate, but I have an Xtreme25, an Xtreme35 and an Xtreme47 in the van and I switch between them all. If I could not afford these three then I would have an Xtreme25, with a 35 extension and an Xtreme47 for the high stuff.

A very popular choice amongst our clients is to have about a 22 or 25ft pole for everyday use and then an Xtreme for serious high work.

We do have some employers who have bought full Xtreme set-ups for their employees, but personally I would find it hard to justify the cost unless they were very valued staff. A standard SLX25 would be a very good pole for employees, with perhaps the Xtreme47 reserved for all higher work.

I would recommend the Super-Lite Medium-Mixed DT brush as a good all-round brush. The Xtreme version is also good for those who value low weight as it is only 145g.
