Merlin > DI Vessel > TDS
« on: July 04, 2012, 11:48:11 am »
Hi All,

I setup my new Merlin about 2 weeks ago...

My tap water TDS is 320, ater the Merlin its 18... Then it goes through a 4.6L DI Vessel which brings it down to 002  >:(   if I then shake the DI vessel it comes down to 001  :-\

Does anyone know why the water just won't come out at 000 ?

Thanks,
Andy

Make sure you have the di vessel connected the right way around.

Sounds like the resin may need changing shortly.. Is the resin new?

sounds to me like it is over filled and channeling inside the vessel, take a little bit out if it is new and allow the resin to move freely

How do I know if I've over filled it?  I didn't fill it right to the brim...

did you compact the resin when you was filling it ?
What I mean did you fill it up with resin, then shake it then fill it up more ?
easy way to fill out if it is over filled is take some out, add riser back in fill with water and skake it to displace the resin beads, if the tds is not lower after a min or two then it is not this.

Let us know how you get on  ;)

I use a 5ltr DI vessel with a Merlin and get 000 TDS so it can't be that.

It might be the TDS meter that's faulty.
