going from 4wkly to monthly.....is it
« on: July 02, 2012, 08:04:16 pm »
worth the hassle of changing over.
What do you gain or loose for that matter.
I now have a lot on standing orders and i have realised i could end up cleaning them 13 times rather than 12 if i stay on 4 weekly

My reason for thinking about changing over is that i seem to just continually work and if i work a saturday then just a Sunday doesn't seem enough rest time( i am 75  :))
i believe with moving over to monthly you can gain a couple of days of,i dont want to go to set days as i feel this could be more restrictive

all comments and views welcome

luv you all :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*

I prefer 4 weekly as it amounts to 13 cleans a year. If all goes well we gain, if not the customer gets 12 cleans.
So thats monthly then  ;D

Yes to a point.
I have found that customers don't like it but some put up with it and some moan. So we work in light rain that's coming straight down but as soon as it gets heavy/horizontal and is hitting the glass I send the lads home.
By law they have to be paid at least a certain amount when sent home so I try to avoid it.

i ask this because this week i have been pushing it more and i am getting a  good response so i am thinking if its worth going over to monthly and working thru the rain,to a certain point, would it work out for me on a monthly rota

At the end of the day its whatever works best in your own situation as we all work differently.

I also have loads of standing orders but even though we work 4 weekly we never get ahead.
By the time you take holidays, bad weather, sickness, equipment breakages and every other problem which seems to get thrown at us over the course of a year we always need that slight advantage.

personally I would never change as I could see it quickly getting into a "you were due on the 1st where were you?" situation.

When quoting for jobs, we charge 25% extra for 8 weekly.     I prefer 8 weekly work because it is more affordable to customers, and they pay on time, also it takes the same amount of time to clean.
