I know a guy up here in Glasgow that sold a round for 12x the value guy that bought it must be a idiot. Usually they are 5x the value for wfp work now up here but thay seem. To sell for much more down south.

It's alright saying round ain't work 10x etc but would you really sell you round for 3-5x after all the hard work you put in to build to to where it is..?

Although looking at people that are wanting 10x + for there rounds seem crazy, i certainly wouldn't sell mine for 3-5x monthly value, just wouldn't seem worth it to me, but I suppose it depends on your circumstances..

Be interesting to hear what you guys would seriously conciding selling you rounds/business for if it actually came to it

I think that there is a lot of confusion with the prices some sell their rounds, is the 5x only for the customers or all the equipment.

I know that if I sold my round lock, stock and spare connector it would easily achieve over 10x, even if I broke it up and sold in parcels it would still achieve 10x or more.

It all comes down to what you are selling and in what condition it is, what type of customer do you have and what are your prices, and also how keen you are to sell or more importly how keen is the buyer.

I sold a market stall business some years ago for a very high price, I had many who tried to knock me down in price, but why should I, I was in no rush and I was making money every week while it was not sold, so at the end of the day a guy came up, saw the potential as well as what it was already doing and snapped my hand off.

I agree that window rounds are under priced at  say 5x the monthly value when compared to other business  sales because there is such a high profit margin in wfp window cleaning.

If its weekly or fortnightly work you'll get a much higher multiple of the round value than you would for monthly/ bi-monthly work,.. it all depends on the round.

              £2400 month x10 =£24.000 u buy for



     so u make £2400 x 12 =£28.800 first yr
  if i was in my 20s . 30s . or evan 40s i myself personaly would take a loan out to buy this round .and then build on top of it .

in these times of unemployment n deppresion 10x the round seems fair .

If anyone wants to pay that then thats fine but it doesn't seem good to me.  Take you years before you'd see a profit.

Less so in London than elsewhere I would say. Its not been that easy to sell rounds in London but that might be changing now. It was always so easy to go out and get your own round that only mugs and newbies would buy work.

Finding somebody with the readies might be the hardest part

don't forget if you are buying a window cleaning business, its not just the customers that are for sale, its the van, the system , the tools etc

If its just the customer then 10x is excessive but personally if I was selling it would be the whole package and I am confident I could get 150% of my yearly turnover.

i sold some of my work recently for 2 1/2 times the value, granted it wasn't my best work and some of the customers needed chasing, it wasn't easy to sell, i had 2 guys mess me around before the guy that bought from me, he was selling work in another area and was having the same problem with being messed about.

Why the hell would anyone who's built a round earning £30-£100 per hour (some maybe more) want to sell it for a few times the monthly turnover. I wouldn't get rid of my worst paying work for anything less than 12x, but then i'm not selling

Thats the first question you ask, obviously. £30-100 per hour? what planet do you clean windows on?

if i could get 10X for my rounds id sell them 2moz without a shadow of a doubt and then id rebuild to the max for a year then sell again for 10X. would be an easy process to get rich quick.

I've paid 10x a good few times for work.  It all depends on the QUALITY of the work.  I see 10x the monthly take as a snip if the round is well maintained and priced correctly.

I sell work priced at 10x

I dont advertise my rounds as i have guys who have bought from me just a phone call away who bite my hand of at any work i sell.

Ive even achieved 12x on one commercial job
