I have just been offered a rotary machine with vac/water tank. It is a few years old (like us all) but it all works a treat!

This offer came about from me advertising a few cheap bits of tropical fish equipment on Gumtree and owes me a tenner. ....The chap simply wants to swap!

As a H/W/E user on domestic properties i`m hoping to do the larger jobs in the next few months. I feel in a commercial world this rotary could be a good starter piece of kit??!

Please can you advise what the max rpm should be for carpet cleaning/agitation

I am going to have a look tommorow to see what its like. I did ask for the make and the speed but the poor boy seems a little clueless!! The rotary is only down the road and would owe me tenner, surely i`ll find a use for it!

If it has a vac on it, it's going to be a CRB rather than a rotory I would have thought. Fot a tenner it's got to be worth a go.

For a tenner you qualify for TACCA membership even if you use it as a coat rack.

Two of ours have vac's on them. One is ultra high speed, the other is high speed. Both are Victor and both great.

Neither any good for carpets.

Went and had a look and it turns out its a "Jeyes Ranger"....... designed by Oliver Cromwell Ltd 

Its big, its round, its orange (no not a fruit), yeah its old, but it works. I could not walk away without it so the Ranger ended up in the boot of the MG! It has a vacuum which takes Sebo bags (bonus) and the motor, vac, skirts etc are all in good working order...... What would you have done?

On test:
It scrubbed up our kitchen floor well with a pad after walking the dog. As for the RPM speed that`s a mystery!

The silver Jeyes sticker on the front of the unit says:

Jeyes Hygiene
Ranger Suction Unit
Model p.060

Could anyone throw any light on this machine, or is this one for Tony Robinson!!

(As a foot note i believe this maybe a high speed machine)

If the same as the one on ebay it'll be 400 RPM (educated guess) as the number usually designates the size or the speed, and it doesn't look like a 40 anything size wise.

Some on here say 400 rpm OK for carpets but if you've little or no experience you probably shouldn't risk it.

Should be great on hard floors.

When you get it PAT tested you might find out more from the engineer. Take a few pic's and post on here. This would have been a concept machine when some of the seasoned guys were already well experienced
