word of mouth for me this year only dropped the odd card tghrough a door where a customer has moved house,

may do leaflets next year on some bigger propertys,

im 26 new customers up since january but dropped and lost a few so it works out at 16 more than last year up 2 now,not bad to be honest seeing as i aint put any effort in  ;)

Answer really depends what stage of business your at ... newbies will be canvassing / door knocking etc whilst established will be word of mouth.

Word of mouth, but at the moment any new work has to go onto my waiting list, been going over 20 yrs to reach this stage though.

Mainly word of mouth, with a bit of door knocking now & again.
Advertising - a parish magazine sometimes and website.
Sign written van - generates business

Iv bin cleaning for about 3 years now. My dad has bin doing it a year starting next week i am canvasing full time for our roands wile he and my bro clean. When they have to much il start puting in days again best way to get work in my opinion is to canvas and quote sheet them. But once you get so much you will find you have less and less time to expand so this is when you need to take a step back from the tools and get people cleaning. I will probley get slated for thos bt some will like it some wont :P
