Whats The Best Van System For Soft Water Area
« on: June 23, 2012, 01:38:01 pm »
Hi,
Im a newbie and trying to understand the different sort of van systems. I think its a Di system I need as im in a soft water area? With this sort do you fill the tank with tap water and then it is filtered before going to the pole or is there a better one? Any idea of price?
  Cheers,
     Steve

First thing to do is buy a tds meter, to see how soft your water is.
It may be more cost effective to use a ro.
If you do use a di only, all you need is a tank,di, pump, pump controller, battery, hose reel/hose & a pole
Thats about it

Hi S.W.
Read through the old posts on here -  especially winproclean about Double DI - some DI before filling the tank and some fill  the tank with tap water and filter on the way -  out I do the latter.
There is a relationship between rate of flow and volume of the DI vessel and the efficiency of the resin.
It's worth reading up on.
I find the benefits are - I can fill up on the fly even at customers houses if I run out during the day.
Tank is full of tap water -  I can bypass the resin vessels if there is no outside tap and wash 1st cleans with tap water straight out of the tank and finish off with pure.
