Thinking of searching for a business partner
« on: June 22, 2012, 09:26:43 pm »
Hi guys,

Turnover is £175k+ a year give or take a few k and I'm at my wits end at the moment with the business lifestyle.

This certainly isn't a bragging post and anybody who fancies a challenge in maybe combining or sharing the stress of running a window cleaning would be somebody who I'd certainly be interesting in hearing from.

Thanks in advance,

Dean.

Do you no longer like window cleaning Dean?
I also find it quite distressing  :)

Haha,

Good responses,

I'd love to have a chair in richys unit Ste and Roy I do at times find myself distressed by window cleaning. I think that the week in dawlish in a caravan with 4 blokes was my peak.

Not for me my friend-all that ale and escaping gases!!
Just had a perfect weekend in Suffolk sampling the delights of the Adnams brewery-sounds like you need the same?( without the 4 men in a caravan!!)

Wouldn't you just sub a load of work of
Dean and spend more days at home with
the wife in the office/ up caravan?
You must spend more time stuck in traffic
than you do cleaning windows mate, with
the area you cover  :o
keep it simple

what he s not telling us is his overheads are astronomical esp fuel costs!the stress and aggro involved(although people like dean can thrive on it!)until they reach a "tipping point" then they can slide into active alcoholism, depression and despair and lose big chunks of their business ending up broke, busted, disgusted and not to be trusted!!

not saying that will happen with you dean but i would run a million miles from going in a partnership with richy wilts!!he s just bad news mate!!

best wishes

Thanks for the replies,

Overheads are pretty high but you do get that,

As for going bump, that certainly isn't the plan.

I've just bought a large wfp domestic round which is all within 18 miles of my base and they're all good payers looking at the books so that will help with flow. We've been unable to get stuck into that properly as yet as we've been busy on our other work and held up by the weather. The majority of the customers were informed by the person who owned the company(who now works for me) that their window cleaning charge would rise by 20% due to vat and we've had positive responses.

As for depression and alcoholism,

I did suffer a major turn for the worse last week where I turned to drink and spent a good few hrs depressed.......that was only due to my cardiff city team losing in the fa cup semi final at wembley on football manager.

As for window cleaning,

I thrive on it as you say Dazmond. I started out as a 1 man band not so long ago and my business has outgrown me. Hence this post.

Ill be intouch,

Dean.

Cardiff City and 'losing in the final' go together like fish n chips.
Should've chosen SCFC ;)

Haha,

Its a long story ash,

I won't bore you with the full details but to cut it short, I started at port vale and got sacked, then went to kettering town and got them relegated to the conference north, then got them promoted to the conference, had a great cup run and nearly got them promoted to the league. I left for championship norwich and got them promoted to the prem then we got relegated and I got sacked. I've now been at cardiff for 3 yrs and have rebuilt the club from bottom to top.

There you go :-D
