250,000 flyers
« on: June 22, 2012, 03:42:02 pm »
I spotted a post on here the other day ( really sorry but I cannot remember who posted it ) about a carpet cleaner who had delivered 250,000 flyers over  12 months , and had a turnover of £85 / £100,000 pa.

I started my business last September, ( trained by Host and Cleansmart ) but I have taken it very slowly, only doing a couple or so  jobs a week, I now feel a lot more confident about the business of carpet cleaning, and now want to grow a lot more quickly, ( maybe up to the dizzy heights of one job a day !)  so my question is if I was to have 20,000 flyers a month printed and distributed what would your advice be ?, has anybody else done this ? how did it work out for you?

I have so far put out around 11,000 flyers in the last 3 months and had a .03% return rate with a job average of £82.50, not a fantastic turnover over 3 months but I am planning for the medium to longer term and if I can expand on these numbers by proportion of flyers I would be happy, has anybody done this ?

cheers

Paul.

I would say make sure your leaflet is as good as it can be, and features an offer you'd be happy to honour - whilst still being an attractive proposition/call to action.

Unless you're going to change it regularly, but this would be more expensive than ordering a shed load at once.

do not waste space with your logo and company name, and use every sq inch of your leaflet to talk the client into using your services.

apparantly this works.

trying to get my head round it as we speak.

I spent the first four years of business getting work from flyers only, i ended up putting out ( or getting a company) 10,000 a month every month. It costs but you get good business and in tern get a good customer base  to work on for the following years ;)
