do you use them quite often even though you have a van mount?

do you take a few barrels of pure to fill it during the day or use a sub pump?

im thinking it would be handy as emergency back up and for a few domestic jobs where its a pain dragging the hose around!!

what jobs do you use yours for?

All jobs at the moment ,most days for last 4 months can't wait to have funds for a van mount.have worked 30 ft with no flow issues.

backpacks are a great tool......a few months ago I didnt connect my RO properly....in the morning I came out to find my tank quarter full so I filled 6 barrels and a bck pack , and off I went in my car
aside from that ...my eldest daughter has just left school and is helping me one day a week....she does the downs  with a light pole from the van mopunt and I do the ups from the backpack...works well
but really it is just a tool...... and its a tool worth having as a backup , but also for those awqward houses where the hose gets tangled around everything

all day every day, used it at 45ft no probs,  gonna bodge up a van mount soon for a couple of blocks o flats & a few big houses but otherwise i'll be using it as long as i can

I got a sack truck from BnQ for £25 and bungee a £100 back pack to it for the awkward terrace job instead of running 100 mtrs of house out and rewinding it after. Saves loads of time. I have two 25 ltr barrels in the van, pre-filled. I guess I use it once a day and wouldn't be without it.

Use if for odd jobs, like if we have to go through a house, would never work with one all day It would cost my thousands in lost time/money in a year not to meantion it would screw my back up.

Great additional tool, carry a couple of barrels in the van just incase it is needed. on about 95% of my work it is not, but does save hassle.

im trad and have a part of my round where i get have to get ladders off for 1 house at a time which doesnt bother as it takes seconds get ladder off  as iv got a ladder rack so 1 bungee cord easily holds ladder in between driving to next house just round the corner etc,so i was thinking a backpack is most ideal for me on these instead of getting hose reel out/in,i was thinking of buying 2 wcw backpacks and sack truck

I use mine mostly for soffit/gutter/con roof/ cleans, its great for mixing a bit of virosol and tap water to get them sparkling

Like you, I think Daz, I used a trad pole for years, still do quite a bit but a while ago set up a ro at home. got a backpack and a pole from the lord and now use it most of the time. Like others I strapped it to a trolley which makes it easier and faster. I'm starting to transfer the water with a sub pump, oh boy what a difference, my barrels never leave the vehicle. I fill from the bulk tank and then transfer from the barrels to the backpack using the pump. Fantastic.
I'm still not full time, about 3 days a week owing to childcare duties so it suits me really well.

How many terrace 2 bed washes would one manage. Can the pump be dismounted and used in a 25 ltr container?

I started  wfp 6 yrs ago with a back pack, still got it , great for stand alone jobs , and often quicker , also good to get round backs of some houses  , where getting a hose round is difficult, I fill mine via a sub pump, from van tank.

We use backpacks all the time as it's more suited to the way we work,I can fill a backpack in about 20 seconds straight from my van mount

Keep mine filled up and in the back of the van.

I just use it for windows that are a little too awkward to drag the hose to.

I can get about 10 windows done with a full back pack.

A little tip, buy one buy one with a flow controller on as they do use a lot of water at full wack

I took delivery of a Gardiner's one today (van is off the road so I'm roughing it for the week).  I've only used it for one afternoon but it seems superior to the Sureflow and the WCW backpacks.  You can adjust the flow rate with ease if you need more oomph (on the sureflow you have a 4 phase button underneath and on the WCW one, there is no adjustment).  Hopefully the handle is sufficiently durable as it's part of the lid.

I've just looked.  My other hose is in my broken van a few miles away.  However, although I can't compare side by side it looks like 6mm.

put a tap on the end of the hose, no need to have the controller this way, agree if your using it all day every day but odd jobs I wold and do use a tap to control the water work fine
