Wanted - Truck mount for Recycle
« on: June 16, 2012, 10:29:24 am »

Good day all
I was wondering if there is somebody who have unwanted Truckmount carpet cleaner in their garage which is occupying their useful space and they don't need it. Due to my engineering background and lack of money I can fix or feedle with it to work and therefore I will recycle it to startup my CC business.

You don't ask, you don't get.

Even bible ay, as and you will be given  :). am doing exactly that.
regards

Theres one on ebay at the minute,

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VAN-MOUNTING-CARPET-CLEANING-MACHINE-VANGUARD-20HP-ENGINE-/270980690885?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item3f17b533c5

You won't get one much cheaper than 2k. People on here have bought one for as little as £1200 but those finds are rare.

Be prepared to budget for repairs, the machine may be cheap but the parts are not. The expensive parts are the Blower, Pump, Heat exchanger(s) I looked to buy an old chemspec steam genie last year which was in a right old state, so much so that i let it go and (Mick) a carpet cleaner on here bought it. It needed alot done to it and i think it has cost another 2k to get it right. Still a cheap TM for what it cost.

A tm is basically a collection of parts - so the chances of finding someone to donate are very very slim. This is without tanks, reels, and other essential parts.

This would be a good starter TM and van

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Carpet-Cleaning-Machine-Transit-Van-Business-Opportunity-/261035569622?_trksid=m7&_trkparms=algo%3DLVI%26itu%3DUCI%26otn%3D3%26po%3DLVI%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D9194794878327851770&_qi=RTM1084480#ht_2214wt_922

But the price seems to high, I'd say the van worth 2k the TM 2.5k =£4,500 maybe a bit more for the oth bits and pieces. it's probably not the best time to sell as well.

I'd be interested in other opinion on the value?

HOW MUCH FOR THE VAN!!!! I wouldn't give £ 600 for it, the TMs worth £2k-£2.5k at best

max price £4k......he lives in fantasyland at that start price

The van is worth anything up to 2k. Thats what i've seen them sell for. I know someone who has just sold one for 2k with 130k on the clock, it sold straight away.

Hi guys

thought this was completely overpriced too, halve it and then negotiate.

Cheers

Yeah there's no harm in asking but.....

For 2k you can have a half decent, working entry level TM. If you can't afford that then you need to spend more time cleaning carpets with whatever you have got. Also a TM will be a burden rather than a panacea if you haven't sussed out getting a consistent level of business.

Good luck.

It's not expensive, you just can't afford it.
