The University School of Clinical Medicine has a number of buildings
across the Addenbrookes site, and embedded within the hospital. Currently
the cleaning is provided by two outsourced cleaning providers and a few
School cleaners under a variety of different arrangements. The University
wishes to contract with a single company to provide cleaning services
across all these areas.

II.2.1) Total quantity or scope:
Suppliers are invited to tender for the provision of cleaning services to
the School of Clinical Medicine at the University of Cambridge at various
buildings and parts of buildings on the Addenbrookes Hospital Site all as
described in the tender documents. The Services will be carried out in a
number of buildings across the Addenbrookes site, and embedded within
parts of the hospital itself. The University requires that suppliers are
experienced in providing cleaning services in a diverse variety of
different building types/uses e.g. libraries, offices, lecture theatres,
laboratories, reception areas. It is particularly important that suppliers
are able to meet the specific specialised requirement for cleaning medical
laboratories.
The aim of the contract is to achieve a consistent approach to cleaning
across our buildings. As the School of Clinical Medicine continues to
grow, additional buildings and areas may added to the contract from time
to time. Therefore Suppliers should allow for expansion of the Contract
and be able to demonstrate that they have the appropriate experience and
resources to accommodate this. Please note that whilst it is the current
intention of the School to add additional buildings/parts of buildings to
the Contract, this cannot be guaranteed and the School is not under any
obligation to add further work into the contract nor to guarantee that the
number of buildings/floors shall remain constant throughout the Contract.
