Gutter Vac
« on: June 07, 2012, 12:59:07 am »
Hi all,

I know we have discussed this topic before but thought I would start a new post.

I am finally getting around to sorting out a gutter vac and have decided to buy my own parts - cheaper!

I dont want to build my own poles so where can I buy just the poles from? I did see a couple of posts on here where people are selling them but cant find them?

Also...

What wet n dry vacuum to buy, and where from - seen any deals about lidl etc?

Thanks.

I use SL2 number 6 sections

Same here, what a difference compared to the omni alloy poles, so much lighter and easier to use. I do a lot of 3+ storey buildings and was thinking about selling my complete set up due to the hard work getting the alloy poles up and down and just fed up with it. But now the carbon fibre sl2 sections make it so quick and easy to work with.

Try Grippa vac in Google and have a chat with them, I bought a Omni pole system used from here, but was speaking to them about buying a system from them.

They sell poles separately to the system and have different grades to choose from

Hi,

I dont know, but they are Alex's poles.

There was a guy selling a SL pole on here, I contemplated buying it to use, but I don't find the Omnipole's to difficult at the mo, but I haven't used excessively.

Gutter cleaning systems

Do you own one of these or know anyone else that have bought one - looking at the karcher vacs wondering if 1400watts is powerful enough?

I have the Omnipole vac, it has 3 motors and when i bought it the guy said he always used the 3, so I tend to as well. Affraid I can't help on the Karcher / Clarke, but have been many post on here regarding them.

The Clarke 30 is constantly getting blocked up and the hose does not let the waste flow properly

What length of poles do you use mostly? Do you find 20ft enough?

I bought a clarke 30 3 weeks ago from http://www.guttercleaningsystems.co.uk/ after recommendations on here.

Very happy with it, I picked up a £100 job last week from a property at the back of a customer I was doing when they saw me working.

It has nearly paid for itself in 1 month, customer service is excellent, I popped down to them as I live in Fakenham and had a good chat and picked up some tips.

All in all a great investment

How do you get on with the poles that they offer mate are they easy to put together and tighten up etc do you need tools or can you tighten up by hand?

Thanks for all replies.

I find them easy to put together, they slide in nice and tight and you hand tighten the join with a rubber screw attached to the clamp, for a normal 2 storey house I would like to think I would be sucking out the gutters within 10 minutes of opening the van doors

I have same system,  the hose will get blocked a lot if you
Don't look after it, after every couple of job you do, suck a load
Of tap water thought till its full and it will clean
The hose and pole and it then will be trouble free.
keep it simple
