problem with controller/pump

Hi i've got one of those liquid logic digital controllers. Its now constantly reading DE and the pump just keep clicking on and off not pumping any water. I've tried tuning the controller but the pump just keeps clicking.
It worked fine the day before but the leisure battery was getting low so I top it up over night then when I connected it all together this problem happened. Even if you disconnect the hose it still does it. Any ideas?
Thanks.

Could just be an air lock.
Try sucking the water through the pump.

Have you tried using the auto calibration? An air lock as the previous post is also a possibility. check all the hoses and brush head for any other obstructions.
How old is the Battery? The controller will not allow the battery to drop below 11V
