Advice

Hi

Got a job next week...

its around an hours drive away from me ..

at the minute there are min 15 detached house ( varying sizes)... all priced well so worth the travel... with potentially more houses to add to the 15 already

I was wondering at how much ( estimate) water i'd need..

I have a 400 ltr tank in my van with a further 250lts in 25ltr barrels so in total 650ltrs ... i done a large house the other day detatched with large conservatory .... nearly done 50ltrs in id guess...

these house dont have conservatorys...

I recogn my 650 lts may be enough... but then again ??? ???

ideally i could do with getting contact with someone near where the work is for some water should i run out..

Thanks
Paul

I'd get 15 detached houses, assuming they weren't mansions, out of 400 litres with no trouble. Do you have triggers or aqua-dapters?

no aquadapter (yet)..

have the customary shut off valve on the end of the reel....and the good old "fold / kink the hose on the end of the brush method"

I can see the 15 being nearer 20 maybe more  when i get there.... just trying guage exactly how many out of my 650 ltrs i'll be able to do in one go ...

Its North Yorks...

You will be fine with 650 litres just keep an eye on your flow rate

Regular you will have no probs first cleans just keep flow rate down and wet up more than window at a time to soak this will help you save some watering you have divi flow control try about 33 or 3 on manual

650 should be plenty however take a di vessel with you and u can purify from a customers tap into your tank even a high tds will give u a couple of thousand littes from a 7ltr dumpy.

cheers... i normally give the top frames followed by windows etc.. a right good soak on more than a window at a time more so on firt cleans then... go back to the first window and concentrate on the glass up/down then rinse side to side to the cill and finish with the ledge... will this be too intense???  and therefore use more water.

cheers

On first cleans i connect to customers tap and give a good clean with tap water, then a very quick clean with pure, that way you wont use much pure at all. ;)

Paul H,
You could always trad the last few bottoms, if you find you're running low.

not at all, just, if your worried about water running out turn the flow right down first time over. just adgitate the dir,t you need to wet it and brush slightly, it is the frames and  top of the glass that can/will cause problems.

first cleans also scrub bottom of glass as these can also cause problems, but you do not need a high flow for doing this, have fun  ;)

Connies and Patio Doors are the water killers.

Detached house (5 bed modern, no bays) = 25 litres

As above plus conny = 40 litres

1st cleans eat it too!

Wiping bottom cills instead of blasting the grit out will save you 5 litres a house too.
It's a game of three halves!

On my pure freedom trolley we have the flow set to about 35, the faster you get the less you will use, I have a 400litre wfp set up and we take about 200 litres for the trolley in total, on Friday we did 28 houses of various sizes and there was still some water left, if you have any 1st cleans to do just use tap water to go around frames with as said above, this is easy to do with a trolley system

650L should be easily enough!!i have a 350L TANK in my van and find it enough most days.

i use a flowcontroller set at 60 and 100m microbore,aquadaptor.

turning water off between windows and when cleaning sills(upper windows) makes a difference.

i also trad front and back doors if their wooden and use a squeegee on bottom sills then finish with a microfibre sill cloth.its amazing how many customers like nice clean and dry bottom sills.

if your worried about running out and being a fair way from home just take a small DI with you and hook up to a customers outside tap or trad the ground floor windows.

for the life of me i dont know how 650L wouldnt be enough for 15-20 houses.what do you do?water all their gardens as well while your there?? ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

these are fairly big houses mate smallest 4 bed detached...i did a large 4/5 bed detached with a large conny the other day...almost 50 litres (first clean) so was using this as guage... prob abit on the OTT side but was just trying to calculate ... i recogn like you say 650 will be enough...and there maybe more to do on the day when i get there.. so it could be 20+...

on a plus there will be no connys on any of them... so theres a saving straight away on the job i done the other day...

if ive got any left over... yeah watering the gardens is an option... ;D ;D... at a price though...

if their big houses and all first cleans you wont clean em all in a day on your own anyway mate.i find most cleans take twice as long(at least) to get them up to a decent standard then they are a breeze after that.

best wishes

I'm up on the road and at them for an 8 start tomorrow morning..... its a challenge i'm raring for....i just keep thinking about the pocket full of money i'll have driving back home ;)...after all thats the motivator...

After tomorrow i'll know exactly what the craic is ... i know this is going to be a nice earner every 4 weeks so raring to get at it..

I also have the option to stay over if i need too on future visits (but not tomorrow)...
