After trying to employ but struggling then going back to just me. I want to take an employee on, and send on training what course is best as it seems to me they are directed at the boss not employee's as i dont want them to learn about the actual buissness side just how to clean the windows properly

Hi Ben,

Where are you based?

We are currently providing a fully funded QCF course!

Many people on this forum have been on our course!

If you give Gary a call in the office on 01205 316683 he will be able to help you out.

The next batch of funding we have will most probably be the last batch we have!

Hopefully speak to you soon,

Tom :)

Can't you just train them yourself???

It's not a difficult job we do is it.

I can understand surgeons having to train, but window cleaners?????

My 11 year old picked up wfp in no time, surely your man is just as clever as an 11 year old.
Come and talk dirty to us!!!

Thanks for the info will call wednesday

Why is it when people ask a question people feel the need to post crap like that. If i wanted to train people i would not ask this question. Answereing a question like that is stupid at the end of the day you dont know what kind of buissness i am offering and whether i need to prove my workers are trained correctly.

Some times i wonder why i bother on this forum

I have neen on the NVQ 2 course that Impact do and althought you do learn some interesting points, especially about H&S it was more geared to extreme heights.  Domestic and low level cleaning was not really covered.

There was also no practical training on the glass, they did access me on one of my jobs which was a school with difficult windows to clean and H&S issues, at one point the did a video of me cleaning some windows at 60' using a SL2.

There are a lot of collages that do offer courses on cleaning and window cleaning is a module of the course, they also learn other aspects of cleaning as well, most of it though is classroom based and they would like the student to gain the practical on the job with an employer.

Personally I do not think that there are training schools that offer practical on the glass training, I might be wrong though, but if there was a course on this, would they train the student in how I want the job and clean to be done, like you I feel, I have very high standards and I do not think that a training course by a 3rd party would teach this to them.

If you clarify what you want them to learn maybe, some people on here can come up with suggestions or ideas that you can work with.

Thanks for your input William, things have changed alot since you attended the course and we offer alot more practical training during the course. This includes hand tools, internal cleaning, extension poles, ladder use, WFP.

We have had some great feedback about the practical training we now offer so your employee will definitely benefit.

Cheers
