steve this is what companies look for and if you were to get work from the local authority in your area they would look for risk assesment, method statement and safety data sheets relating to the chemicals you would use.

Anyone working in a commercial environment should be carrying all the required documentation at all times, regardless whether you are asked for it or not. If something goes tits up you can bet you'll be asked for it then. And if you have caused an accident, even someone just slipping after walking off wet carpet, and you haven't done the relevant paperwork your liability insurer may not pay out.
This can put your personal assets at risk including your home.

Slips and falls are the most common no win, no fee claims. Someone damaging a vertabrae in there back or neck may be incapacitated for life.

Don't be complacent this poop is happening on a daily basis.

In my experience of working on commercial sites they can appear at any time while your working and request to see all docs for everything you have on site, in van and people working.

Even at 4:00am they pull this kind of stunt. There is no better feeling than being able to present them with a big site specific binder of over 100 pages and letting them fill their boots.

Was pulled today by the company HS officer on the pungent smell of Carefree Eturnum totally enclosed stairwell (two fire door per landing, no windows and no type of ventilation) now concerned with the Berlin effect (haven’t looked it to this side of claiming) will now!

Risk assessment once, insurance never.
I do some work for local council, mainly nurseries, and
they have never asked for insurance or risk assessment.
I'm down on there books as the person to contact for any
carpet cleaning required in council owned premises.
