On the subject of carpet cleaning leads

Has anyone had any dealings with www.cleanupbid
It's where they find the leads for you and if you get the job you pay this organisation 9% of the ticket price. The 9% falls down to about 5% for jobs £1k and above.

As a carpet cleaner I have never heard of them.....

As a regular internet user I have never heard of them, and as a google searcher I have never heard of them...

So how would the potential custards have heard of them, and why would they use them when a google search for carpet cleaners (their town) throws up a huge supply of cleaners??

just my thoughts

This is what really pes me off about the world today. The people who are getting rich are doing so off the poormans/workers back. What has this indusary come to? ... we do the hard graft and someone else earns from it whilst sitting at home or on a beach somewhere.

I don't agree,

If some entrepreneur comes up with a scheme that supplies CC or anyone else for that matter, with work they would not ordinarily have and earns out of it then good for them, surely both parties would be happy with the arrangement. After all if you don't agree with the service you don't have to use it.

YP/Yell do someting similar with no guarantee of any work and huge upfront fees for the privilage.....

Now where's that sun tan cream  8)

I would happily pay 10 % payback for any work. Are people not intelligent to realise how difficult and expensive new customers are to come into contact with. If somebody is happy to market me for a 10 % commision then I will take all the work they can give me.
If people are that lucky enough and busy enough to sneer at paying a `10% fee for introductions to new customer then they do not live in the same world as me.
South Wales is not listed in the areas of operation otherwise I would sign up straight away. OK nothing might come of it anyway but as it is not going to cost me anything to find out I would be stupid not to take the opprtunity in the first place.

Probably for the first time ever I read through all the legal bumf, which does throw up a few conflicts from what I was told on the phone.
1) Who sets the price for the job - I always like to preferably visit the property to see the items and gauge the people before coming to a price. One example from years ago was when I was sent to clean a '3 seater sofa.' It had been priced as a standard 3 seater but when I got there granted it was 3 seats but the thing must have been 12 foot long. This company will be doing over the phone quotes which always puts us on the back foot not knowing what we will exactly be walking into on the day.
2) Payment - initially I was told customer pays the company 10% of the job ticket straight away if they accept the quote, then pays the tech the remaining amount on completion, but, looking through the contract it looks like they pay the full amount to the company after the job who then pay the tech subject to there being no issues. AND this is where I am going to have a big issue.

If a few things can be ironed out I don't see what the problem is with paying someone 10% to do all the finding and associated work, particulary if it leads to future work at the property which will be 100% payment in our pockets. Don't know about you lot but at the moment I'm not exactly wondering how to fit all the work in :o

The concept sounds great. What I would do is ask to speak to satisfied clients. SIMPLZ
It's not expensive, you just can't afford it.

Another way of looking at this is , you are the person who will be dealing with the customer "face to face" , and you can always "upsell" when you are there and market to them direct at a later date.
This is the season for fine wine, and drunken friends, enjoy this moment, for this moment is your life.

i still can't see this working as if you Google them
they don't appear. So how are customers visiting them every
day?
From their T & Cs

All Service Providers shall be requested to grant a minimum credit level of £500 without any formal credit review
This tell's me they hold £500, so you probably don't get
paid until you've done this much work!

CleanupBid.co.uk offers no promise that advertising and marketing of CleanupBid.co.uk will occur;

This tells me that they are not actually going to advertise anything.

The Service Provider agrees that throughout the term of this Agreement it shall not, without the consent of the other Parties (such consent not to be unreasonably withheld or delayed) whether directly or indirectly on its own or jointly with any third party or through any other member of its Group, work directly for the Consumer on a Job not arranged through CleanupBid.co.uk.
The provisions of this clause 33 shall survive the expiry or earlier termination of this Agreement for a period of three (3) years.

This means they are their customers not yours for 3 years from your
formally leaving cleanupbids

It would be great if genuine but i doubt it

I wonder if the leads are family members
throughout the country, and as you signed
up to allow £500 credit, they get it done
FOR FREE  ;D

The site isn't optimised for Google because they're using the
site as a contact point for recruiting service providers.
Once they have the numbers the proper site will go up.
Think they're not actually going live till September.

Nobody`s mentioned it so far,so I will and here goes.
How does it differ at the end of the day to a `Groupon`
Set -up. ??? ???
I know it possibly does,as nothing pays less than Groupon
In my opinion.
Can members enlighten me, thanks :-[
