Hello all, was looking to see if anyone knows if the subway branches are done on a national level.  If anyone can shed any light on this would appreciate greatly.   thanks

ok, thats gd too know.  All it is I spoke to a manager of the one branch who said the same guy cleaned all the branches that he knew of.  This led me to think along the national level.  But hey mayb i should canvass the other branchs a little harder and see what comes of it.  cheers for your feedbak thats given me a little needed g up .

sometimes franchises can have multiple shops in an area and may have struck a deal, or maybe I am wrong and they are all national now, if it is the first you need to find the head franchise gaffer

ok I guess what your saying is to figure out who has the franchise and how many shops.  Once Iv found the boss then i pitch to him.  The only problem is I wont undercut the existing windie to get the job.  Or in other words I dont want to try and take his jobs but would like to tender for the contract.  problem being there is no contract and jobs are just carried out on a weekly basis.  any ideas to move fwd

then you are wasting your time unless the current window cleaner is very bad or charges an awful lot, they are tight and will go for the cheapest quote unless really unhappy with service, and as you don't want to undercut that rules out your plan, I agree with you though, to a degree, then again that is why I am not cleaning ours

try targeting local businesses i.e. independent cafes and shops and the like, but most of it is sewed up already unless you are lucky enough to find a bad window cleaner or a really expensive one doing the shops , it is doable though

Individual franchises still.  I only know because I clean one of them.
The only reason I got it is because it is a very difficult layout.  A trad cleaner wouldn't be able to do it and most WFPers couldn't either without investing in the right kit.  In fact, it was passed on to me by a couple of trad cleaners I know.
Hour for hour, the rate isn't that great but it's a job I can do before all my other work so is a bit of extra income.

I use a Gardiner pole to clean it that has a clamp on the no 1 section.  Into that clamp I have a 90 degree extra long goose neck that I had specially made (not just for the one job).  This allows me to clean the glass roof and glass canopy as a shorter (standard) goose neck would not be sufficient and a goose neck at a lower angle would struggle.  On the inside I use easy shine pads on the underside of the glass roof and for the top two rows of glass.  They chose to clean the lower two rows themselves (supposedly).  Using a ladder/squeegee would be impractical due to furnishings etc.  I had to experiment with this a bit before I found the best way for me to do it.
Most WFPers don't have a long 90 degree goose neck and I reckon most don't have the internal cleaning pads either - which is why I say that most would not be able to do it - certainly not within the time that would be viable for the owner.
