Got a call today from a lady who had hired the famous RUGDOCTOR :

to clean her carpet anyway i went to have a look and there are huge browning marks everywhere .Its the first time i have ever encountered this problem so whats the right method and what are the chances of removing them cheers craig

I'd give it a good coating of acetic acid (56% stock diluted at maybe 1:100, might need to be a bit stronger but test) or alternatively off-the-shelf prochem browning prescription, maybe easier. Brush in or bonnet, should see the browning literally melt away.
Then clean it properly, probably would only need a neutral pH, I'd use m-power or similar, maybe belt & braces to acid rinse and speed dry with air movers

You probably could clean it first, then correct with post-treatment but I always like to treat the problem before doing the clean, just seems more logical to fix the problem before going any further
