I had a tap on the pole with the hose loop and to be honest you will notice the weight on the pole to start with but you will soon get used to it. great bit of kit looking at getting the mk3 soon to retire my mk2 as a spare or to go on the slx35 i want

What brush do you use? If you are using a standard super lite, then match the aquadapter with an extreme, and you probably wouldnt notice any difference.

I found the Aquadapter the best accessory to come into the WFP sector for a long time. I have used taps with ez snap/schraeder couplings and find that they start leaking and you get a wet leg. To save getting wet I just used to drag the tap along the floor to the next window and shut the water off when going around to the next side of the house. I don't like the hose on the outside of the pole, even although we used this way every day with Unger Teleplus Poles.

We have one job left that I use my Teleplus poles on once every six weeks. I have the job of cleaning the french doors behind the bars on jouilet balconies on a couple of blocks of flats we clean. I hate the hose on the outside now and only use it as I would rather not damage my SLX on the bars.

I found it much easier and convenient to use the Aquadapter on my SLX40 and any extra weight on this pole isn't noticed and much more convenient to operate.

I did notice the Aquadapter on my CLX22 and SLX22 for a short time, but the superlites compensate for the additional weight.

For me the Aquadapter has been a 'god send' (can I use that expression) as I have always had back problems and by lunch time can hardly bend down to pick up a tap off the ground.
I have always used thick walled clear plastic tubing for the pole hose, which is too difficult to crimp closed with my fingers.

So with my personal circumstances, the Aquadapter does save me wasting water as well as it's so convenient to switch off. I guess that on my day to day CLX22 the cost of replacement taps would have been more that the cost of the Aquadapter in the last 2 years.

The Mk3 is a little lighter than the Mk2. I also prefer the red hose to the orange BTW.

Don't do what I did and purchase two of them.  Just get one at a time and see if you like it.  I found it a big heavy lump on a lovely light pole.  It lengthens your closed pole length too, and it takes more effort to shut the water on 'n' off than just nipping a handy bit of hose (only really works if you use an external pole hose).

I flogged both of mine; though one was leaking too (I didn't investigate why) and I always had water running down my pole soaking me.

Once I took the thing off, the pole felt lovely 'n' light again.

I used one for a year,.. they're worth the little extra weight if pure water is costing you money, but when I got my pumped RO and started using a fraction of the resin, I decided I'd rather have a lighter pole & use more water.

My mrs is on to me now about not being very environmentally friendly with all that water wastage, so I've gone & got myself a flow controller with remote control which I'm trying out tomorrow.

ive got 2 aquadaptor mark II s.if you want to buy one GOLD id go with the mark 3 as i have had problems with the mark II s.the screw thread adaptors on them soon break and need replacing and the rivets work themselves lose so there is a bit of "play" at the end of the pole.

the mark 3 s look the business though and i think they ironed out the problems ive highlighted.


buy a couple of spare springs as they snap after a while(had 2 snap in 12 months).


great bit of kit though.yes they do make the top of the pole heavier but you soon get used to it.the only annoying thing is its easy to turn them on accidently when extending the pole(hose getting twisted inside pole)or if you stand on pole hose!

i used a tap on pole before that and the loop of hose was a lot worse!!i also tried the tap on hose with holster!that was really annoying!!

weighing up the pros and cons they are worth it IMO.as ive only got a 350L TANK using an aquadaptor coupled with a varistream my water lasts me all day no problem usually.

the saving on water and resin costs(im DI only)and the ease of use during my working day easily outweigh the cost of it.

Not so long ago people were shaving 'ounces' of plastic from their Vikan brushes and then the Superlite brushes came out and they were all the rage, and now people are sticking big lumps of metal on their end of their poles.

Anyone can make work difficult for themselves, but I prefer not to.

I find working with an external pole hose so easy, there's lots of positives, including you can just nip the hose and it cuts off your water flow immediately; no problems; quicker than yarking the hose at the bottom of your pole. 

And looking at the new nLite, with the external pole hose, it seems manufacturers are realising external pole hose has positives too - you don't get all that dirt/sand/grit inside your pole for example.

And I'm quite a relatively fit (I run three times a week) and stocky guy; I've done the 'op massive' thing with weights when I was younger, but when you're working day-in-day-out with a pole, I think the wisest choice is to use the lightest equipment you can afford.  I know I've not had any shoulder problems since I started using the SLX, and I'd like to keep it that way.

Yep, and if I'm feeling particularly lazy and I've a lot of ground floor work to do, I screw the brush off the SLX and screw on a short fishing pole, pole, and work with that.

That's got to weigh next to nothing; really feels like cheating; a nice high flow and off I go. 

Collapsing the pole is a lot easier too; you just rest the bottom of the pole on the ground, or on my boot (obviously you lot won't rest it on my boot) and just collapse the pole.  With an internal pole hose you have to hold it off the ground.  It's the little stuff that makes life easier.

Gold, you can cable tie a medium sized banana to the back of your brush, shaft it up and this will let you know if the AD is for you. If you don't like the feel of it, you wont have wasted any wonga and you can eat the nana.
It's a win win bit of sound advice.

Thanks chaps - I tend to go with Tosh's view as I agree that "the lighter the better". (I don't do hose on the outside - tho' I used to on my fishing pole) .

I didn't spend money on SLX's to make them unnecessarily heavy again. And I do have a tap in a holster.

May be I should get soft pole hose and make it "pincheable".
