Hey all

I've got hold of some of these and wondered what the best way of washing them?  I wash my scrims in a very hot wash on their own then hang to dry - should I do the same with the microfibre?

no more than 60C I just wash ours without washing power and defo no conditioner or you will end up with nice shiney cloths which are not good

Tumble dryer ok as well

I have never tumbled mine, just air dry them, they seem to has better suckion, used to dry my scrims in a tumble dryer, although they foldered up nice and where soft they didnt absorb water no where near as well, so stopped it and never did micro cloths, I also binned the dryer so now don't have anyway

My mrs does mine with normal wash she does them at 40 with conditioner and they are ok.
Only thing i would say is not hot enough as stains dont always come out.

would the MF be no good if you did by mistake wash them with condoner?
Are they dead after that?

Things to avoid: Do not use fabric softener when washing microfiber cleaning devices. Softener would act as a kind of wax, recovering the fibers' surface, clogging up the micro spaces that are efficient to trap dusts and also cancelling the fiber's chemical and electrostatic properties. Microfiber can be washed with other kind of textile provided they are lint-free. No terry cloths or dryer sheets for instance! Otherwise lint would clog the fibers as well and reduce their efficiency. If those mistakes have been committed, microfiber should be rewashed in order to recover its properties. Like most plastics microfibers are resistant to a lot of chemical products. However do not use chlorine bleach on microfibers and avoid using acetone (it can shatter polyester fibers) or strong acids (it can shatter nylon fibers

not dead but take longer to clean the glass untill the conditioner is washed away after next couple of washes,my mum washed mine other week as my dog chewed the washer door rubber so it leaks water and she used conditioner and my scrims were so soft i couldnt grip them properly to rub the glass,microfibre pretty much the same

Thanks for that.  Didn't realise you had a degree in microfibrology - that makes you equivalent to a doctor doesn't it?
