The  Elite carbon and Slx are of a similar spec ,  which has been covered sometime ago by nathaniel jones who tried out both .

I have had a Elite 35ft for just over a year now and have no complaints other than the end caps are rubbish , I would by another Elite if needed .  MIKE

one thing that would be a factor when chosing is the closed length as it needs to be carried in the back of a kangoo
ill have to have a look at the closed lengths

im saving up for a supermax 40.the great thing about these poles is the closed length!easy fit into my van with gooseneck removed.i also have a kangoo!

also if you get any bigger jobs you can buy 2 sections to add on to make a 47-50ft pole.

the gardiners 40ft is slightly cheaper than the elite by about £25.

not sure about rigidity.maybe the elite might be slightly better as they use hi modulus carbon fibre.im sure the supermax is carbon fibre cloth but dont quote me on that.

im sure alex will be along soon to clear things up.

i cant find the closed length of the 40ft elite poles on their website but im sure they will be longer as their clamps are bigger.

the old tax rebate is due next week so i need to make my mind up and invest some back in the business
ive used a friends 40ft elite a few times and it is a great pole  and rigid at max height
never given a supermax compact  a go so cant  really comment
i think the closed length is slightly better suited to my van  on the supermax
