I find it better to dilute some odour neutraliser, and spray it from a hand sprayer when you've finished the job - as well as sometimes I spray some onto a towel and rub it along the back of the radiator.

A spray of NI-712 usually does the trick.

I find its longer lasting and generaly more effective than in tank smellies.

Hi Jamie, I never used any deodorisers/masking agents for 9 years thinking it's better not to leave strong odours but then changed my mind, lol

Now I often spray this, good stuff (same as Tony mentioned)

Lemon and lime one smells best IMO. One or two puffs will do it -very potent.

Craig.

Something's wrong if carpets smell bad after you clean them.  Unless there's a specific odour problem to deal with you shouldn't have to add any smelly stuff afterwards

Besides, if there is an odour problem, a little bit of deodoriser isn't going to work for any length of time.  It'll get you out the door but after it's worn off....

Don't think he's saying the carpets smell Jim. What he means is there is no smell to indicate that the carpets have been cleaned.
I was of this school of thought whilst I was cleaning, not leaving anything in the carpet. However my views changed when I did various deodorisation training courses and came to realise how important smells were, especially to women.
I am now of the opinion that when a customer walks in to a freshly cleaned room and there is a very nice smell that reinforces the opinion that a good job has been done and the carpet is really clean.

NI-712 is a really good product. only thing i found is that the two times i have brought it they both had  tendancy to leak in the back of the van and only got to use around half the product ...maybe i just had two faulty bottles ? :( :-\

Jamie, I put a link to it in my previous post.

Craig I've had that too with many spray bottles, it's not leaking but syphoning, very annoying.

Best spray bottle iv got is mcproper, second one down, Exellent..

So if I sprayed a tog turd with bubble gum scented deodoriser, you'd pick it up and take a bite out of it? ;D

The problem with these deodorisers is they might smell great when you first use them but they go off and actually don't smell very nice after a little while

I much prefer the very slight natural smell of Brand X colloidal based cleaner, it just leaves a hint of "fresh" in the air without making you gag and choke on a synthetic perfume.  Don't use it on every job but notice it when I do.

Lots of people are sensitive to synthetic perfumes, or just don't appreciate them being sprayed around their house.
