Some people seemed to take exception because he thought he was years ahead of everyone else with his electric reels and hot system. Made some interesting posts.

NOT ALL, but alot of the ones who up and leave thought too much of themselfs and their own opinions. And posted like they were the Oracle , every post flavoured with narcicism.

I have spent some time reading back posts and find them very helpful. It just seems a shame that so many good posters are not around any more. My overall observation so far is that there is very little respect on here.

My overall observation so far is that there is very little respect on here.

I blame the low standard of moderation, but if you see something that you think oversteps the bounds of common decency, then use the report to mod button.

Personally, I remember when Phil Hanson tried to over moderate the forum, it wasn't a nice place to be, and he nearly had a stroke trying to keep everyone in line with his view of how they should post.

Mike, the forum owner, doesn't lay down any guidelines about how we should moderate; he leaves it upto us.  And in that vein, it's your forum too since you're a member, so use the 'report to mod' button and help us keep this a friendly place to use.

And if we remember it's just the interweb, there won't be any problems.

Thank you Tosh for your input from the moderators point of view. But respect is something that should come from our members. Do you not think?

This forum is just like real life

People are people and they will behave the same here as they do in every day life

As tosh says we don't interfere much, we do respond to report to mod reports,

respect is earnt and not a given, as dave says this is real life, it you can't handle banter then this is defo the wrong place to come, the advice is great on here and at the same time can be totally wrong.

Clive (slumpbuster amongst other names he had) was a nice bloke, he was always forward thinking and seemed always positive, thick skin is needed here, you have to be able to give and take some can't handle it and leave simples
