Anyone tried using Thompson local for advertising...I did and realised its crap ...so cancelled it..but there saying its a years contract and I need to pay which is correct but I'm so reluctant to pay for it considering its an online service which can be removed in seconds...lesson learnt I think..although I may fight it a little longer.

Read the small print in the contract , and be careful that it doesn't "roll" over to next year !

Sometime's these contracts have a clause that says you have to cancel the contract  90 days before the year end, or they automatically roll over to year 2 and 3, but what they really mean is on the 90th day before the end of the contract and on that day only ! , I got stung  with this one years ago on a telecom's contract.

Although it's about 10years since placed an advert with Thomsons I still get occasional calls from people who found me through Thomsons.
