Hello folks.

In need of some advice. Just about to start up in window cleaning and I'm after a few pointers.

1. I've been told Window Cleaning Warehouse is the best to get gear from. Is this right?

2. Ettore or Unger? start-up kits appear to be more expensive once you've tallied all the figures together.

3. Cheapest place to get a van, either via HP or other means.

4. No vehicle at present, ( failed MOT bigtime) so it'll be on foot around my local area pulling a garden trolley (not ideal but it'll burn some timber off). But I think my area is being covered by someone else. I know it's not the done thing to undercut and I wouldn't. But I was planning to leaflet drop, so I'm leaving it in the customers hands in theory...is that fair?

5. This is what I'm thinking about to lug my gear and hopefully my ladders http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/370586259072?_trksid=p5197.c0.m619. Is this a good start?

1. cheap printing via www.vistaprint.co.uk
2. cartoon illustrations or flyer design service available via me, at www.toucan-jester.com...another feather in the cap...have to when I have a baby on the way. Contact details on contact page...free quotes available

1  WC Warehouse is a good place to start so is Soap National so take your pick really

2 Ettore/Unger well your pref may change after you start using them each to their own so again take your pick

3 well this really depends on your budget doesn't it

4 the trolley idea has legs (well wheels actually) so a good start

 As for visit print I've used them myself and found them more than adequate
One thing to note with them beware what you tick or don't tick on their website you may find you inadvertently signed up for something you didn't want, their website is geared that way

I'm sure you have many more questions but this is a great place for information so keep looking at the back pages for previous posts

Times for alot of people are hard I have had three customers change two 10 weekly or cancel this week due to lack of funds so be prepared to work very hard to get a good customer base

Cheers Chris...hadn't heard of Soap Nation so I'll have a looksy.
I've had a look at the other posts, some brilliant tips on being shared. Nice to know folks out there are helping each other out...seldom happens these days.
Vista has a few snares, but overall it's cheap, which is always good. I've not had a bad experience as yet, touch wood (taps head).

To be fair I used to carry ladders all the time when I was working for BT, but I was just thinking trying to think of ways to make life a little easier.
Hence why I thought a trolley would be good to haul bucket,tools, wet weather gear and most importantly a flask of tea. Body has already took a beating working for those cretins at Busby land :/

Hi Paul. Yeah it's a bit tricky generally, but I'd much prefer to be my own boss. 20 + years of being a slave to the wage, working with eejits no longer appeals to me. Guess I'll just have to graft that bit extra if needs be.

Too true, it's not 'what you know, it's who you know'. I've got a mate I'm hoping to buddy with for a day, just so I can get some hands on experience.
