Truckmounts
« on: January 12, 2006, 08:39:12 pm »
Hi,

Has anyone thought of or has done the following:-

Fitting the solution hose intside the vac hose if so have there been any problems ( simular to the drimaster hand tool ).

I can see a few advantages of doing it i.e. only the one hose to move around when working, no heat from the solution hose laying on flooring etc. and of course if the hose does split then nothing gets sprayed that shoud not.

I can see that there may be a build up of debris inside the vac hose but with screw on hose cuffs it should be easy to clean.

it would reduce air flow.

Its a good idea, however I think the airflow going back to the machine may have too much of a cooling affect.
Now if someone could make an integral hose where the two were isolated that would be good.

slight loss of heat as extracted water cools heated pressure line.

due to the heat & vac proformance of your tm i dont think that it will cause to much of a problem

go for it

Tony,

CFR hoses have the solution hose within the Vac hose.  Standard lengths are 33' + 25' extension hoses.

Presume they can be adapted to fit.

As Glynn says, If this was done how do you connect the Hydraforce??

Attach a single solution hose???
I get better looking each day!!

Hi all,

Many thanks for you input.I have now acquired the 2 inch vac cuffs to adapt and some very light weight solution hose rated at 4600 psi this hose also holds its heat internally much better than your normal solution hose.

Glynn & John I did think of the connection to the Hydraforce and have had made a 20ft length of solution hose.

If anyone wants to know the make of the hose let me know it is also cheap to buy ( £51 + vat for a 50 foot length with swaged fittings to let you attach your couplings to.

Let me add that I have no added interest in the sale of the hose.

Kind regards Tony Harrison

Tony is it the black Thermo-hose? ( very stiff when new)

I once had the idea of putting the solution line in the vac hose, I thought if I got a BMX bike inner tube I could pull it over the vac hose the put a 10mm hole in the vac line and only a pinhole in the innner tube. As I pulled the solution line through, the inner tube would stretch allowing the solution line passed then grip tight making an airtight seal

just cutting a hole in the vac line will never be airtight

  Hi Mike,

Not sure about the hose that you describe but this has a teflon inner to it.

The end cuffs that I have got already have got holes in them for the solution hose to go through  so there would be no need to put a hole in th vac hose or use an inner tube.

I forgot to add the the working temp is 100 degrees C which is ok for me as I dont opperate above that.

Kind regards Tony
