Found a better way of repairing leaks in my microbore hose .

I used to use the inline barb connectorand 2 O clips which never seems to work that well as it would still leak .

Thought i would try amalgamating tape which is a rubber tape it costs £3:50 for a 10 metre roll from toolstation you only need a small amount .

You wrap it around really tight and it bonds over leak i reinforce with some insulating tape.

Best thing i have ever used .  Mike

Gold the item number is 23876.  correct description is self amalgamating tape for most leaks . I use few inches of tape and wrap it around as tightly as possible  .

It says it wil be totally waterproof within an hour but i just put it straight over leak after draining hose a bit to reduce pressure.

And you can see it bonding together in seconds and i worked for a few hours after repairs and was totaly leak free . Mike

I have only used it on small holes . It might work on tears have not tried it couldhttp:// work imo . But you need to wrap a good amount of insulating tape around as well if you need to continue working .

Some idiot was going about 50mph in a 40 mph area and my hose was across the road and it tore a 1/2 inch tear in hose .  Water sprayed out like a fountain .

For this i used LLFA compression tape again from www.toolstation.com more expensive at £8:69 for 1 metre . It comes in 4 strips which i cut in half .

This will work even if water is spraying out and has a high tensile strength 1200 psi and tear resistance of 125 psi . Highly uv resistance .  Mike

another tip also
if you've had to repair hose this way, its probably within the first few regularly used meters, to prolong its life remove from the reel and reconnect from the other end.

Nice tip mate , mine is damaged within the first 15-20 mtrs  ,  I have 125 mtrs on my reel so the damaged area will stay on the most of the time . might switch  mine round this weekend .  MIKE
