A Rug Doctor is a joke as far as being a supposedly professional carpet cleaning outfit. You will never get onto your feet if you go down that route as people can hire them from b&q. If you're serious about it then look on eBay and get a professional quality machine, preferably twin vac, like a Ninja or similar.

As Simon says there is a machine on ebay now for £400 which will do the job Dont turn up to do a professional job with a silly little piece of kit that the homeowner could hire themselves from their local supermarket...........Regards Alan

That's more like, I've got one of those! A Diamond back, but make sure you look at it first to make sure it is in full working order. Next thing you need is to attend a training course - a must if you are to avoid causing damage to people's carpets by not knowing what you are doing.

The diamond Back is a heavy machine which could be a problem working upstairs, so perhaps think about getting an extra set of hoses so you can keep the machine at the door rather than humping it up stairs which could cause damage.

Don't forget that there are no tools or hoses with this machine so it will cost a bit extra.
Someone on here may well have some spares.
Don't get a small machine - you will only want a better one in a month or two.
Get some training or go out with someone for a day or two.

Alltec Express twin vac or Cleansmart Airflex mini (the same machines) Great machines to start out with, plus you can get training with both companies.
Plus Robert (Alltec) and Matt (Cleansmart) are very helpful.
