Hey guys

I have just moved into a new house and only the front bedroom window is leaded, which looks odd, i want to strip the lead away, which sould be easy, but will it be easy to remove the adhesive left behind??

I still got my trad gear so will a bit of fairy and the scraper do the trick.

What you wana do is get a very sharp blade an get it under the
Lead at the top of the glass, and slowly pull the lead of with the blade scraping the glue of the glass at the same time as the lead is coming
Of. (If you catch my drift) this way you will get most of it of
1st time, the when all the lead is of get some metha and wire wool
And go I've the lines that are left.
Make sure you take the lead of as it went on I.e. it goes on right to left all the way across the glass the the the opposite way.  Other wise you'll make a mess.
Beware!!! If it's a double glazed unit it will probley be leaded on the inside
As well so check 1st as you would be wasting you time doing

Not sure about removing lead but acetone will get rid of most things sticky.

If your worried about protective coatings that may be on the glass steer clear of anything that may scratch, and be careful with actetone also. A steam cleaner is an option but messier and slower than acetone.

You can't put lead on the coated side of glass as when you are boneing the lead (detailing to you me) it would leave marks that won't come off.

So safe to use a blade

I was a lead lighter for 8 years and still do a bit to date
