Do you, particularly  those who need more work, actively encourage and promote customers to review them online and so on. 

 what has worked?

 Leaflets to promote it, asking in person, publish links on your website, emailing customers, offering incentives

if a customer gives me a very good response in person i ask them if they could do an online review. Have also emailed some of the companys that i do work for to review me. Ithink the site im advertised on im the 3rd best based on reviews but this does not stop me getting work form that site
