I have just replaced the pump but still I'm getting hardly any pressure or flow.

The new one is copied below,. The old one was a slightly different number (8000-946-238).

I have had to take the pressure switch of the old one and swap it with the one on the new one as the inlet and outlet connections were different: -

To be honest it hasn't made any difference. This one is fitted with a pressure switch, the old one was but it was bypassed by Brodex.

As far as the wiring goes it came ready to connect and it is pumping. Tested the system by letting the pressure build up and the controller did it's job and cut out, although it took about 7 minutes to do so. Is this too long? I can't see any signs of a leak or pressure escapaing, but wondering if this could be the issue.

I have also changed the inlet filter as the old one was minging.

Short of changing the controller, is there anything else I should look at, maybe inlet / outlet pipes could be blocked?

Any thoughts / experience welcome.

Connect the pump without the controller. Just wire the pump to your battery and see how much flow you get. Your controller if working properly should have cut the pump within a few seconds unless you have air in your system.
Is your inlet pipe clear of sludge? Is your tank clean? Do you have a large bubble of air in the strainer? Has your tank got a vent?

If your controller was made by Varistream then it is normal to bypass the pressure switch.

Been out until about half hour ago.

At last all seems to be well.

I just went around releasing all connections and reconecting them. Also, closed the floe control valve and kept the pressure on until it cut out on its own.

I think where I was going wrong if I am honest was not letting the water completely fill the microbore before opening the valve, live and learn though.....

Tested with the flow control valve and now the controller is cutting the pump out as it should.

Just waiting for a couple of new elbow joints for the inside of the tank and the system will be like new...... at last

  don't worry we all go through it. I spent weeks trying to sort my system, crushed reels, blown connectors, changing pumps and controllers. My problems were probably down to air getting in my system through Hozelock connectors on the inlet side. Never did manage to put my finger on it.

I am now officially brassed off.

Twice today I have noticed the controller has switched the pump on whilst the van is parked and without keys.

Sort of not surprised as the guy I bought it from had the cable disconnected from the battery.

Is a new controller required or is there and easy fix?

For now I'll disconnect from the battery when not in use but no good as a long term solution.

Controller for Brodex is basically the same as Varistream Digital VSD6.
