Thinking about getting a crf eco 500 just for commercial jobs..

Its light for getting on and off the van and i like the 'concept' of the recycled water but I wondered If anyone had more experience with working with one vs that of other light in weight portys like a ninja or maybe a tripple vac like a jag??

sorry yes it is, am i thinking of the other one... scorpion? Point being on paper its poweful is'nt it! With commercial i dont want to be at risk of whickback so more water lift the better. Its just the idea of the amount of time saved between re-fills does 'so far' appeal. Its a silly thing really but I love the way the cfr looks and really puts me off thee cross america ones. maybe if cfr did a tripple vac.. lol

Since switching to wonder wand I have never had a problem with wick back on commercials.

Using that and an eco500 at full pressure will give you a really nice set up. Especially with the air watts motors fitted.

I think these have the same vac motors as the Jag and the Storm perhaps Jamie can confirm this only trouble is as far as I can see is that they still have a 1.5" vac port.

Have a bath tonight, leave the water in, then heat it up tomorrow and have a bath in it again.  Then see if you still like recycled water

No Jim you would have to take the bath, recycle the water through 4 different stages. continuous flow recycling, and you dont leave the machine full overnight you empty at the end of shift

cheers mate will do! wonder how effective the 4 stage filter is? could also try puttin bath water through it after footy...if it filters that well enough, i'll buy one

I would think that it is OK on domestic jobs where things are no too bad.

On commercials I get water out of the machine that comes out in one lump, it is that thick it does not even splash, and is black and smelly. Even if the the crud is filtered much of the rest will be put back on the carpet.

If you are using microsplitters a much better buy would be a Jaguar with auto fill and dump.

Yes - I know what you mean! I think its a shame really... Even if on most commercial jobs, you dont see anyone the odd time when you do - if your unloading as people are leaving do you really want to be seen with a 'cheap looking' (i said looking) machine. What about a couple of ninja's??

I dont think it would be for you charles you could end up extracting and re deposting all kinds of things even carpet pests.
I love the cfr on large areas of low pile synthetics, loop piles and needle punch, upholstery and stairs due to the cfr combo tool. Hate is an over statement but its a bit annoying when i have to fill it up to do one set of stairs or a single room. If you are using a detergent rinse it is very wasteful but on a large area it is the complete opposite to that.

Correct. All machines will eventually have them fitted. Eco500 is the first CFR/PowrFlite model in UK available with them.

I thought the hand tool worked like the saphire or that other 1 (4gotthe name) Point being - If i rule out domestic which i have anyway as its just for commercial as its light (lighter) Its not the most powerful on air flow or water lift (or murcury) however the wand may make up for that a little? The recycled water is a really great concept but atm its never going to be 'as good as' constant clean water is it! It has a good heater so i read but thats not really a selling point for me.

Its a shame you cant test these things. I know you can lease hire at worldofclean but not sure what the ins and out r?
Dont even know if ashbys do leaseing, but if they did I would be very tempted!! or have i missed somthing?

For the eco 500 I would use an additional  inline waste filter for it, such as the lint hog  (ebay for £100) as the CFR filter can block up very quickly and reduce suction.  I had a few troubles with my eco early on but id imagine most of them have been solved with the later versions.  

Even though it does recycle the water remember only a very thin film if left ontop the carpet which evaporates eventually.  I've done very dirty restaurants without refilling and the last portion cleaned looked no worse than the first portion cleaned, put some nice smelly acidic rinse in the tank and there's no real issues.

The only issue I would have with using the cfr would be if I had to clean up urine and bacteria from the carpet etc. It would then be in the water and deposited into another area of unaffected carpet as it is recycled. I know that they supply an anti bacterial solution to help combat this, but you may be cleaning a carpet unaware of the problems within it.

When you empty your portable and the water is black and stinking remember you have only at best removed 80% of the water so you have left the other 20% in the carpet.

This 20% is the same black and sticking water you have in your bucket. So before you talk about leaving recycled water in the carpet remember this recycled water in a lot cleaner than the water left by all other portables.

And it there is no reason that you cannot change the cfr water half way through the clean.....then you will leave the carpet with less contaminants that a normal portable

Mike maybe it's me, but that does not actually make sense, because the cfr will be leaving the same 20% plus the recycled %. Plus it will contaminate the not so dirty area's. I had a cfr and found it to be a very efficient cleaning machine, however to refill and clean the filters halfway through a job was quite time consuming. The cfr filters particles out of the water not germs.
