Tank at the back ?
« on: April 15, 2012, 12:07:52 pm »
I am looking to buy a scudo combi crewvan, and wondered if it would be ok to place the 500 ltr tank at the rear of the van behind the passenger seats ?

I know the payload is ok, but would all the wheight being on the back axle be safe, and ok to drive ?

Your thoughts would be really appreciated  ;D

If pulled over by VOSA they would measure your AXLE weights as well as your overall gross weight. You will find that your payload weight (the weight your vehicle can carry) will need to be distributed over both your axles correctly. I would be very carefull. IMO your rear axle would be overloaded. Check it out first. I had a axle overweight fine (not window cleaning related or HGV) and it was £350 :o
Better to be safe than sorry IMO
