I Have the slx 25ft and the extreme 25ft. The extreme is a better pole and its much more ridgid and lighter but for some strange reason I seem to use my slx alot more . Using the extreme all the time is a bit like using a ferrari to go shopping everyday. Its a quality pole and you will be blown away with how light it is but for me for value for money and a good hard wearing pole for everyday use I love my slx ;)

Difficult one that. I only use Xtremes and nothing else. They are beautiful poles but very expensive. I would say no way are they worth double the SLX at 25' but I still wouldn't use anything else.

You can also compare the SLX to the CLX and say it's never worth the money too. Yet loads on here buy the SLX too.

If you compare the Xtremes to many poles the competitors are offering then they are actually a bit of a bargain.

The thing with Gardiners top end poles is that they can be adapted with their extension packs to turn them into a much longer pole if required.

im happy with my 25ft SLX but when this one wears out i will be investing in a 25ft EXTREME as my main pole.who knows what all this poling will do to our joints, elbows and shoulders in the future?!better to try and keep strain down to a minimum.i know they are expensive but if they last you say 3-4 years then its money well spent.just think how much money that pole will make you!! ;) ;D ;D

my SLX is nearly a year old so i reckon itll last me another 2 years or so with a bit of TLC!

i am going to invest in a 40ft SUPERMAX pole in a few months and get a few sections to take me up to 50ft if i get a job at that height.ill be able to offer solar panel cleaning and reach them high velux windows and very large domestic houses.

regards

Yes I'd say they are well worth the extra. They do cost more but when you spread that cost out over a year or two and consider that for every day you go to work for that year or two you will have a far better lighter more rigid pole, I'd say it's well worth the investment.

You will also be able to work faster therefor earning a little more cash each day. The pole is far easier on the joints, if you have to take one day off due to a dodgy elbow or shoulder in the next year when using the xtreme may have helped out then the pole would have paid for itself in just that day.

Daz, before you buy a S-Max have a go of one, i was working with Mike cam today on a big job, ive got a s-max 40 with one extension taking it to 44ft ish, mike has a 50ft so about 54ft reach, there is a fair bit of flex at these heights, fantastic poles though. I'm not far from you so if you want to have a go of one before you buy one then let me know

Hi daz

My reply was in response to the original poster. He was asking is it worth spending the extra between the xtreme and the slx. So I was thinking £300 although the exact price is probably a little different. I know a lot of window cleaners that can clear £300 in a day. Yes £600 would be dreaming for most although I'm sure there are some on here that can clear that but don't want to broadcast it. The £300 is also more achievable with the xtreme over the slx allowing you to do a few extra jobs in the day whilst using up less energy. It also depends how many hours you are working, some windys will only do 4-6 hour stints where overs are happy working 8-9 hour days and others even more.

Simon.

Yes, they are worth it. That doesn't make the SLX any less of a great pole that it is though but the Xtreme is another step forward.

You see the posts on here where people have just gone from a clx/brodex/ etc to a SLX- well it's the same going from a SLX to an Xtreme! It's that step that makes you wonder how you ever managed before! :)
