its true, i do charge more on the first clean 1.5 which aint enof 2x is better but thats alot harder when someone calls me up from a leaflet its amazing 2.5s very easy first time.

this is why im looking at mass leafleting soon , using that gps thing that perfect was on about to make sure i aint getting ripped off.

Canvassing brings a mix of customers, thats why I always say to leaflet too. Best of all is canvassing after a leaflet, I worked an area last week that had been leafleted and pick up the ones who had the leaflet but hadnt called. Knocking on their door is a call to action....

Hey Concept

Why don't you get out there yourself and do it if you know exactly what you want and you can't find anyone ???

Too busy, and me going out alone wont achieve the same results as a team of canvassers hitting it hard over a few days.

Not a bad thing..

Canvass yourself and get less customers, but all good quality sustainable ones, and in your own style, or pay a team of canvassers and get more customers,  but have to accept not all quality and some shrinkage of numbers, which will always be a part of door to door canvassing.

So is this whole forum  ;D

Im pretty sure most people can afford to have a full time canvasser that makes them money all year long.it doesn't work that way mate, cancelations are the problem...and it's 50%

George,
How long would you say to leave before knocking the doors that have been leafleted? I got extra cards from vistaprint so I could have free carriage so decided to card a few streets up , did about 50 houses just to try it. No response as yet about 4 days now.  You should travel round doing canvassing clinics you will do well. ta Pauly

Hi
Once they have been leafletted its best in the next week or so, there will be people who have seen the card and meant to call and the knock on the door is all they need.... I have had brilliant knocks even when another company has leafletted! They just have window cleaning in their mind....

As for running canvassing courses, I have seriously thought about it in the past but I wasnt sure there would be much call for it... I would seriously consider running a days course if there was enough interest....

You reckon it would take a day to train in door knocking?

I'll save you the trouble and break down as best I can

Knock and say "hi, do you have a regular window cleaner?"

If the say no. Say would you like one?

If they say yes. Say tell me his price and I'll beat it while offering a great service.

Lesson over....

I'm not long starting up so have not canvassed much yet ,did some last saturday and got a couple and back out again this weekend. I aint keen on under cutting and p***ng  other windys off,if  they say already got one. I just say thanks have a nice day. On the other hand if I am asked for a price coz they not happy with windy they got then I will give it them. I dont expect to find a street with no windy at all but on the lookout for dirty windows and frames. Oh well at least excercise will do me good.. ;D

the ones with dirty windows are normally the ones that don#t want a window cleaner, my advice would be tp never second guess any house

It's a numbers game. The more you knock, the more that answer, the more you get.

Some areas have window cleaners some don't.

Its that simple.

Have you ever done any kind of sales Steve? You could knock a street with no window cleaner and still get a load of no's if you approach it wrong, proper canvassers dont just collect the yes's. People buy into people...
