« on: April 13, 2012, 08:24:13 pm »

Hi guys, thinking of getting a jet wash and there are so many on the market.

Is the large electric ones like The new Karcher Expet 1 is any good?

Or the petrol ones?

Many thanks in Advance.

petrol engined  13hp 3500psi 15lt/min this is what you need for cleaning  drives & patios

anything else ( eg electric) is a waste of time just like trying to clean carpets with a puzzi 100

Mike is right.

I started last year, bought 6.5hp cheap petrol machine. It managed to clean everything but had to use mostly just the lance with a high pressure nozzle.

Cleaning blocks it got the job done but you'll get covered in crap that flies about.

Cleaning patios was much harder work and a lot more time consuming. Nozzle had to be really close to the slabs and had to go over every square inch....Back breaking.

Bought a 13hp honda 2 weeks ago and the difference is incredible. Driveway that would take 4 hours with old machine took 2 hours start to fininsh including rinsing down everywhere.

It's true what everyone says about buying a cheap machine will end in having to upgrade it and buy a machine that you may as well have bought in the first place.

If you can afford it, get a 13hp petrol minimum. You will not regret it....It does everything much quicker, better and easier.

Noticed you have contributed to posts ref hose pipe ban.
So you are aware of situation obvious why you have now decided to add pressure washing.

I tend to say what I think - If I was a potential customer of yours and you turned up with new small machine novice - would be bloody furious. Veolia water have tried to stop people like your self from cashing in on the situation, assume other authorites would take same approach. In July potential for situation to effect us all far more seriously I would reconsider investing £1500-2000 on a professional piece of kit given current situation.

came on here from window cleaning section to ask same question Boshravie has already.

where would you recomment shopping for one of these machines ?

can it connect to outside tap or best having a seperate tank like a 1000 litre IBC for it to suck from ?

hi
i find its best and generally reccomended to have a resovoir tank of some sort ie ibc. you can get a syphoning effect whre the pw is drawing more water than the mains can deliver.
