gardiners sill brush

i've just got 1 from ebay & it came with 19mm screws holding it to the socket fine, but when i put a scraper on the screws wont tighten .  is there a way round this or do i just use it without the scraper ?????????????

It sounds like the screw-threads have been slightly worn with use.  The solution is to buy a couple of 22mm self-tappers from somewhere (B&Q, eBay).  This will give you the extra bit of thread you need.  Do not purchase them any longer than 22mm to avoid penetrating the bristle face.
