« on: April 07, 2012, 10:08:08 am »
Hi All,

Hope everyone is having a good long weekend.

I have a 1 man 500l system. Just wondering what trhe rough layout would be to make it a two man system?

Cheers,

Caleb

2 pumps 2 controllers 2 hose reels (better to be safe than sorry buy having just one pump)

What do you need to know ?

one pump, one controller,  2 reels The original pumpthat came with my van system has been doing this for 10 years in my van, before i got the van it was owned by OCS and had been used with the pump on full feeding 2 reels all day on commercial jobs. if you have the spare cash go for 2 pumps 2 controllers you will have individual control over each reels pressure. If you dont have the money just use your 1 pump IMO

agree with this, the resaon I say 2 pumps to controlers is for a safe guard, if your pumps last 10 years that very good going, I have replaced at least 3 pumps in the last 3 years alone, Thankfully I had 2 in each van so when one went down I carried on working (the cost for me is worth having this in place just in case)
but if on limited funds then 1 pump one controller a y piece between the 2 hose reels as said.

I always recommend 2 for the reasons above Kentkleen

Just a quick question regarding two man set up....if using 2 pumps, controllers do you put the y piece on the hose straight from the tank outlet then run the hoses to the separate pumps?

Cheers, Mike

you can also get fittings for this instead of a y piece purefreedom.co.uk do them and I am sure they can be found in many other places that do pipe work
if not b&q :)

Hi mate,

Are you taking on someone to help?

I recently went to a proper 2 man setup in my van after using 1 pump 2 reels for a while... It's quicker using 2 pumps, and you save on water to!

Just use a Y piece from the tank outlet hose to run hose to the new pump, connect the new pump to a new controller, and the new controller to the battery - simples  ;)

Tom never got back to me over that curry!   :-X

if you want 2 pumps and controllers then the extra is about £150
Hose reel with hose about £100
connectors about £40
Pole depends what you use anything from a harris pole converted less than £30 to ££££'s clx are great pole for workers about £150 odd +vat

I have run 1 pump 2 reels now for 3 maybe 4 years i cant remember, but still same pump, and this was a second hand shuflo pump to.

No problem at all, T off after your pump, add yourself a seperate reel for about £100 and save the £150 odd on pump and controller, YOU DONT NEED IT

Some people over complicate things...its a pump, it pumps water, doesnt know where its going! It just pumps the water whether it be one reel or 2 reels. You may notice a rise in pressure on the one reel if the other unplugs, but if your working together properly youll both unplug roughly the same time anyway...
