Looking at a vacuum recovery unit for recycling pressure washing water, this is not the first time I have mentioned this on here and am looking for different angles and opinions on which way to go.

I have asked this before on this section but only remember a roots blower being mentioned.

I have a Hot & Mighty pressure washer, two man set up in a LWB Transit, this is a hot/cold set up @3000psi and 35LPM, in the van I have room to add the waste water recovery unit and in my opinion it will have to become a crucial part of all ongoing works with drought circumstances worsening.

I am looking at various options from importing a made unit from America, from Italy, utilising a powerful enough vacuum or truck mount or asking someone in the know to put me together all the requirements.

A crucial part of the set up is protecting the pump, this was an upgrade from 22LPM to the 35LPM it is now and cost around £1000.00 alone. The whole set up is worth about £10 000, with additional upgrades on all parts.

The filtration needs to be considered. I don't particularly want to self build but I know there are those on here that could probably put this together for me.

What do we know about self cleaning filters, vortex filtration - could these be included.

I have two months to sort this out and need to let various clients know that we are working on a solution.

Your assistance will be greatly appreciated.

i know this is not much help but i've seen some awesome setups in america, full rigs with amazing power and recovery, with filter systems in place, had a search but can't find em, and can't for the life of me remember who pointed me to them but FM they are awesome.

There are a great deal on the Pressure washing institute website and George Podell who made my system does a cracking recovery unit but looking at all options.

if time allows you need to attend the ISSA cleaning show in Amsterdam in May. I went 2 years ago and pressure washing had  a big outside display area with 2 or 3 vacuum recovery systems, their will probably be the same again this year.... then take lots of photos and talk to the engineers.

the recovery of the water is easy its the filtration that's the problem, the CFR system uses recycled water and this uses the vacuum to pull then dirty water through the 1st filter then uses a series of post filter to bring it down to an acceptable level of purity to pass into the cat pump

I don;t think their is the expertise you need here to answer your query

Had a conversation about the Aquilla system - from Tensid today, about £23000.00 but you can use the same water for a month, whether they would do a clip on for my system. I have spoken to Richard Turk at Tensid in the past and may give him a call on Tuesday.

Mike - there is just not the same impetus on recycling and recovery in this country as in America and abroad, I don't want something cobbled together, a cheap vacuum and bits added on here and there.

I want this to be an investment in the business (it is also going to become a necessary requirement) and I want it to be part of the future marketing.

We do have system builders on here though that may be able to assist and I am not expecting a freebie!!!

as a simple option perhaps ...

Mytee floodhog  ....  which would have a mesh input filter + an internal filter on the 70gpm pumpout
then connect the pumpout hose to flow into a regular plastic water tank through a fine filter on the input ..
feed pump from the water tank

a crude settling tank type filter before the floodhog might be usefull for sand filteration

ah but they become carpet cleaners in winter where they probably make more money than window cleaners.

Rob you might find attitudes change, once individuals based down south realize they are effected by the drought order coming in July.
