im thinking of investing in one of these poles.i currently use a 25ft SLX for all my domestic and commercial work.i do struggle to reach some skylight at full extend and there are some i cant reach at all.the thing is its only a matter of time  before i go to quote a job and i wont be able to clean it with my 25footer.

also im noticing more and more customers with solar panels on their roofs and i would like to be able to offer to clean these as well say once a year.

my slx is a fantastic pole but i think when this one wears out ill get the 25ft extreme as my main pole for most work.

anyone got a supermax 40?

Looking at them as you say solar panels will be next years big thing I rekon but even at 40ft not sure it will reach all of them from ground.

I do some apartments and use an old brodex carbon pole which is very very very very heavy ... may invest in a Superlite 47 extreme and have ability to add sections but lot of dosh which is in short supply at the moment

i think i need two decent poles.i really dont want to be messing about adding sections and taking them off and faffing with pole hose during my working day.im more of a "grab a pole out of van and start working" sort of guy!!

what i like about this 40ft supermax is the short closed length so itll fit in my van no problem.im 6ft 2in with long arms and im sure ill be able to reach most roofs with a 45-46ft reach.also ill be able to target some of the bigger houses near where i work which are out of reach(so to speak!)at the moment!!

Having separate poles does save time and hassle - however it can end up costing more hence the reason some clients go for a pole and then add to it occasionally.

It does sound like the 40ft is a good length for you and your van. You can also be confident that if, in the fullness of time, you need to go slightly higher you can easily (and fairly cheaply) add up to two more sections to it and still have the same collapsed length. If you had a 25ft and a 40ft pole, you could confidently cover most bases and should be able to reach solar panels and Veluxes on most standard houses.

This is a very good way to work with the ultimate pole at each height for the best possible price. Because I have to work with and test all sizes (poor me!) I have the Xtreme25, Xtreme35 and Xtreme47. Each pole represents the best possible choice at each height for me.

Buying the 25ft and then the 35ft & 44ft two-section Xtreme extension modules is the cost effective way to achieve the same thing and they only take about 30 seconds to add each time.

If you can afford to stretch to the Xtreme range you will never go back - and that is a promise.

i decided to upgrade my poles about a month back. i do a mixture of trad and wfp so got an everyday pole the clx22 and the slx40 supermax for the odd jobs here and there.  i thought i might have trouble reaching a few jobs but to be fair its perfect.  when extended fully its really rigid and easy to control and like you said, being a compact it collapses down small enough to do ground floor if you want to and is an easy fit in the back of my van (vauxhall combo). best pole ive used by a long shot. got the carbon fibre gooseneck and superlite dual trim sill brush too. if you do get one you wont be disappointed, its worth every penny. quick delivery too

Don't whatever you do buy an Xtreme!

I made that mistake.

Trouble is they are so darned good that you'll never settle for anything less. My main pole is my 25'Xtreme with extension. With the extension it will reach most velux's and all three storey work. It is so light that very often the extension stays on for a couple of weeks without a problem. Xtreme brushes too - it can't be beaten. Of course this kind of quality doesn't come cheap and neither do the spares.
I've also just done my end of year reports and I'm 5K up on last year, don't seem to have gained that much more work and so I'm either working far quicker or the drought has some bearing on it. I'm certainly not working any harder, no more bursting biceps, strained stomach muscles or neck ache. Brilliant pole. I also have the longer one for my higher work.

I have a supermax 40 ft. Great pole, light but remains rigid. Get a carbon gooseneck with it. 
I use a 22ft slx for everyday work.

are these poles fragile ? as looking to get a longer pole for commercial work, this would be used by staff also so durable is a must

Never had a problem. I wouldn't waste money on staff though - madness. It's too good for them.

They are NOT fragile. Not to be compared with any modular pole in relation to how robust they are.

They are as strong as an SLX IMO & you can hoist them up from the floor at over 40ft!
