I keep finding my microbore fitting increasingly differcult to connect together should I put a spot of wd40 on it or not..
Is there some high quality stainless ones that I can buy??
What do you guys use??
All of the manufacturers of these couplings recommend that when you replace the female couplings you should also replace all of the male plugs (pole tails) that will connect to them. Most of the initial wear and damage that happens to the inside of the female couplings is caused by worn or slightly damaged male plugs. Whilst they will work well to start with they rapidly will cause the female couplings to leak, disconnect, jam open etc.
WD40 is fine as long as you flush it out of the connector before use - however keeping the couplings grit and dirt free is usually all you need.
I also fit a Protecta-Ball to the Microbore side of the female couplings and the two together really help prevent unnecessary wear and damage.
