I did loads of research on this last year.

The Cleaning Warehouse gets loads of positive feedback on here and oter forums. When talking with them they are very knowledgeable and helpful.

The problem with self-fit aside from getting insurance, which may prove impossible, will be the risk to those in the cab if you have a bump.

They also do great prices on supply and fit of a more professional set-up. Have you spoken to them, might be cheaper than you think.

thanks for the reply ian, they do seem to be a decent company, the system i was thinking about is the one with the pre drilled frame for securing to the van, problem is theres so many companies with so many deals that as a wfp virgin i haven,t got a clue what to go for, i am on a budget of about £1200 unfortunately..cheers :)

Give them a call and speak with Joe. He is a great guy and will advise you based on what you tell him you need.

When I was looking around I received lots of positive feedback about these guys and if buying new this is where I'd buy from.

You sure about that?  I'm with A-Plan; I told them I fitted my own system, and they'll even give me a van with a system fitted if I have a crash.

Tosh, from on here it seems that A-Plan are the exception.

I've just added a new van to our Aviva policy and I had to shower after the call as they had delved so deeply  :o

I did ring around and there is a definite lack of understanding with Underwriters in general, this is probably where A-Plan are one step ahead. I'll put them on my list to call when renewals come about.

dont get fooled into paying over the top prices for stuff you can do yourself . but i suggest getting tank secured proffesionaly but system is a piece  of cake setting up. it gives you better understanding of how things work. i paid less than 1500 quid doing a decent set up where a lot of companies want double that. a mate of mine was determined  to get his system done by a company and he had a hot system and it cost nearly 7000 and to make mine hot it cost another 200 quid . he has to clean a lot of windows to get a return

There doesn't seem to be much of an issue with a diy system in a pick up.

Personally i would not have a professionally fitted system or diy bolted through chassis or bulkhead . Firstly it would void my warranty and second what eould insurance company make of it if not crash tested and you are in a accident no doubt they would wriggle out of paying

a few Questions for every one

Tie down points are bolted to what part of the van?

tiedown points are meant to take the payload of the van evenly across van ?

and does making extra holes in the cassis where the holes arnt meant to be weaken it?
