i have so much work now i can not keep up, reason being, is in dundee scotland, there are no experience wfp workers around, that's the drawback, trad, theirs no stopping you from getting bigger as their are plenty of trad cleaners around , i think there is around 3 wfp workers in dundee, but are all self employed,   i have trained a young lad here, and he is brilliant, but does not have a license to drive yet, i still save loads  of time using him, but i really need a driving wfp cleaner, if i lived in england, i bet wfp cleaners are very common, or am i wrong, or do some of you have the same problem hiring experienced wfp cleaners,

I am havin the same problem jo,I have a second van but no one to drive it ,I had someone lined up and as soon as I said he would have to sign off the dole he ran a mile ::)I am in Kirkcaldy.

Down here in Brighton on the sunny South Coast, I would say it's 90% trad and 10% wfp.

There's also a dire shortage of window cleaners trad or wfp. I turn down work most weeks although I always have a look at the job.

Hence the higher prices down here.

Personally, I put the lack of window cleaners down to laziness.

A few years back when I was in a partnership and ran a proper company, getting anyone who knew anything about wfp was impossible. It was pretty much the same for getting anyone who knew anything about window cleaning. In fact, getting anyone who was prepared to actually work for a living was pretty much a joke.

Plenty of urine takers but willing to work? Very rare.

When I was in England (Medway Towns) there was far more work out there than I could handle, despite there being window cleaners everywhere. This made no difference at all when the recession started to bite as I was picking up new work from referrals all the time .

Here in Ireland, the concept towards window cleaning, particularly domestic, is such that people have to be educated to accept it. Many people here have never had a window cleaner and have seen that it is a service that they appreciate when offered to them.  

Hence there is a market to be created here. It is tough getting started, but 8 months in from starting from scratch, I am now making more than I ever made in England, despite my comment in my opening paragraph.

I live in a small market town but theres loads of wcs around here more wfp though. I normally see a new one about once a week. Still plenty of work for everyone though.
