Anyone know a UK supplier of these...
« on: March 24, 2012, 10:55:31 am »
We' need another one of these...

http://www.jondon.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=13465

When we first bought 7 and shipped them from the US it was a pain.  Anyone know a UK supplier, we only need one as one lost by techy (how do you loose these?) swears he's not left it anywhere "It's just not there."  Argh.  Ah well.  Any help appreciated.

Al.

Gunna have a look and see if they have any more listed as that listing has ended, I bet one of you guys got it (Hector?  :-\), NICE SPOT Derek!  At that price I'm not too upset now.

Yeah sure Hector  ;)

A Review:
It's arrived and well, it's not as good as the original Lift Buddy but it's good enough!  Main difference is it's a 'wedge' on the front not a thinner longer lip so can't get under 'to the floor' sideboards as easy, so extra care needed not to 'scalp' the side of the cabinet, but defo worth having.  At £15 if the techs lose them I'll not be too upset.  It's more of an 'occasional' use item rather than day in, day out, several times a day use bit of kit.  But as most of our guys don't bother using it anyway, and it's really only to comply with H&S regs when we're audited it serves the purpose.

Thanks again Derek for the original spot.  My original link appears to have been moved, so here is the link as it was working just now http://www.highstreettv.com/ez-moves.html

Allan,

I also imported my lift buddy many years ago. Today the wheels fell off and I have lost one of the wheels. You have jinxed me. I think I will get one of the originals from Magic Wand in the States. They are on offer at the moment for $30 something dollars.

Sorry Nigel  ;D  The ones listed above do the job, they just don't have a 'large' flat plate like the Lift buddy, it's a 'wedge' shape with a lip instead of the flat bit, that's all, just needs a little extra care and at £15, well.

You used to be able to get stuff from the states and rarely pay import tax etc, now virtually nothing gets through, so even $30 by the time it's shipped and tax paid?

I guess it also depends how often you're gunna use it.
